- RAPTORS: 6
DURHAM -- Behind five wins in singles, most of them in convincing fashion, the Research Triangle boys tennis team tallied their first win in program history with a 6-3 victory over non-conference foe Louisburg on Tuesday at Southern Boundaries Park.
The most exciting win of the day for the Raptors (1-1) came on Court 1 in singles, as Ramis Chowdhury dug out of a 4-1 hole to win the first set 7-6 in a nailbiting 7-5 tiebreaker, then went on to win the second set 6-3. Most singles matches weren't as dramatic, though, as the Warriors (0-2) managed to win only four games on courts 3 through 6 in singles.
Louisburg won 2 of 3 doubles matches, with the only RTHS win coming from David Filip and Marco Braga on Court 3.
The Raptors will return the trip to Louisburg next Monday at 4:00.
